Document Description
Remediate and restore an illegal marijuana grow site in the Crystal Springs area of Samuel P. Taylor State Park to protect and restore the natural environment. Work will: • Remove and dispose of any remaining grow infrastructure, trash, and hazardous materials that weren’t removed during initial raids; • Recontour areas impacted by cut and fill work and grow operations (cisterns, water diversions, camp sites, dump sites, and terracing) by pulling back native soil and rock to match existing natural grade as close as possible, and restoring natural drainage; • Scatter existing cut and piled brush and vegetation over cleared areas for erosion control; and • Remove invasive plant species.

Project consists of minor alterations of land and vegetation that does not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes, included as “resource management projects” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR § 15300.4; and minor cleanup actions taken to prevent, minimize, stabilize, mitigate, or eliminate the release or threat of release of a hazardous waste or substance which are small or medium removal actions costing $1 million or less.
