The proposed project will install a backup generator on an existing CAL FIRE station in Murphys. Proposed project activities include installation of: a 10 x 16-foot concrete pad and propane powered generator; a 5 x 12-foot concrete pad and 500-gallon propane tank; a trench, measuring 10 feet in length and 30 inches in depth, necessary to adjoin the propane source and generator; and a main meter panel to operate the backup power system. The propane powered generator will provide electrical service to the fire station in the event of an emergency power outage. Ground disturbance and excavation activities will be conducted by hand, with an excavator and/or small backhoe, or a combination of methods. The project is anticipated to take approximately one week to complete.
