Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is a Responsible Agency for the Project. The State Water Board’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program is financing the Project referred to internally as RP-1 Disinfection Improvements Project. The Project involves repairs and improvements to the disinfection systems and related support facilities at Regional Plant (RP) No. 1. The Project consists of: (1) the demolition of the existing sodium hypochlorite storage and metering facility, (2) the construction of a new sodium hypochlorite storage and metering facility, (3) the construction of chemical dosing facilities, (4) improvements to the existing sodium bisulfite storage and metering facility, (5) structural and mechanical repairs to the existing sedimentation basin, (6) improvements to the Filter Effluent Structure No. 1 (New Effluent Structure) and No. 2 (Old Effluent Structure) to provide a pump mix chemical injection system, (7) improvements to provide an out-of-compliance diversion to Lagoon No. 3, (8) demolition of the west alum tank and associated discharge piping, odor scrubber and associated pumping system, abandoned chlorine piping, and bollards surrounding an electrical box, (9) asphalt improvements and a new parking lot, and (10) repair and reconstruction of existing improvements affected by the work, and incidentals for a complete and usable facility.
