- The project will stabilize approximately 85 feet of eroding streambank at two sites approximately 80 feet apart using a combination of soil bioengineering and on-site boulders. At Project Site 1, a series of four vegetated coir wrapped soil lifts, approximately 3 feet thick and 10 feet deep, will be constructed on top of rock platform using 1- to 2-ton boulders existing on site from a previous bank repair conducted by the previous landowner. The coir wrapped soil lifts will be constructed at a 2:1 slope and live willow poles will be installed in between each lift. Above the lifts, a coir wrapped soil wedge will be constructed to top of bank and seeded with native grasses and planted with four valley oak (Quercus lobata) trees. At Project Site 2, a series of five vegetated coir wrapped soil lifts, approximately 2 feet thick and 6 feet deep will be constructed 10 feet up the bank. Live willow poles will be installed between each of the lifts and above the lifts to top of bank a coir wrapped soil wedge will be constructed and seeded with native grasses and staked with willows. No in-water work will occur as a result of the project. All project activities will be completed with equipment positioned at the top of bank
