The seismic scope of work includes includes interior and exterior wall strengthening at key points, such as the stairwell core, by reinforcement with shotcrete and expanding the wall footings to improve the wall-to-floorplate anchoring; strengthening of overhead elements such as beams; and strategic cuts to exterior wall elements to allow these elements to move safely with the building during a seismic event. Other improvements to bring the building into compliance with current codes, accessibility, and fire and life safety requirements will also be provided, including the construction of accessible restrooms and accessibility upgrades along the path of travel.
