The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to purchase APN 024-130-026 with the intent to transfer the property to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. In addition, Caltrans proposes to obtain a permanent easement along the southern boundary of parcels 024-130-015, 024-130-016, and 024-130-027 to provide access to parcel 024-130-026. The easement would be approximately 1,800 feet long and 12 feet wide and is only expected to have occasional foot traffic (no driveway or constructed path is proposed). The purpose is to fulfill an outstanding mitigation requirement from the construction of the Jackson Avenue Channelization project.
