The California Department of Transportation proposes to construct an 8 foot paved shoulder in the southbound direction of State Route (SR) 273. The purpose of the project is to widen the southbound roadway to achieve an 8-foot standard outside (right) paved shoulder width, improving the safety of this highway segment for multi-modal travelers. The project is needed because there is no outside (right) paved shoulder in the southbound direction of this 0.8 mile highway segment.
