The proposed project will remodel about 15,400 gross-square-feet (gsf) of the existing medical clinic and office space on the seventh floor of the building to create clinical and support space for UCLA Health comprising about 9,200 assignable-square-feet (asf). The scope of work includes demolition of existing conditions; new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; built-in casework; and new interior finishes. Improvements to building mechanical systems include new air handling units to support the new clinical suites.

Pursuant to state law and University of California Procedures for Implementation of CEQA, the proposed project is categorically exempt under Article 19, Section 15301, Class 1, Existing Facilities. The project is exempt because it consists of interior alterations to an existing facility with no expansion of use. The project is not located in an environmentally sensitive area. Furthermore, per CEQA Section 15300.2, none of the exceptions to a Categorical Exemption will apply.
