Document Description
The applicant, a private water utility company, is requesting a Conditional Use Permit to locate minor chlorination treatment facilities on a portion of private property zoned for residential uses (R-1 District). The "facilities" consist of a small (approx. 6' x 8') utility shed to house chlorination injection equipment and associated plumbing within proposed and existing utility easements on a private residential parcel in Sierra City owned by the Brett family.

This project is eligible for a Categorical Exemption under California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15303 (Class 3 of CEQA Guidelines), in that the project consists of the construction or installation of small facilities and a small structure that is significantly smaller than a typical single family residence. Furthermore, the project is not subject to any of the 'exceptions' listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 which preclude the use of a Class 3 categorical exemption in this area.
