The project is limited to the removal and replacement of one deteriorated 2-foot wide 75-foot long wood pole (Pole 1822522E) and corrugated steel caisson. The new pole will be set by bucket truck. The new hole will be dug by hand or machine auger within a 3-foot radius of the current pole location. Excavation depths range between 20 and 30 feet with a diameter of 3.5 to 4 feet. The new caisson will consist of a 36-inch diameter 12-gauge steel or better cylinder. The new pole will be embedded 9.5 feet below the ground surface, and the space between the pole and the caisson will be filled with concrete. The area between the caisson and native material, approximately 6 inches around the caisson, will be backfilled with two-sac slurry (sand and concrete). The area of soil disturbance (i.e., excavation, side casting and backfill) will be limited to approximately 25 feet around the pole.
