Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Emergency Project
Type, Section or Code
Sec. 21080(b)(4); 15269(b)(c)
Reasons for Exemption
The battery energy system will help mitigate potential water service interruptions to customers during PSPS events and emergency power outages. The footprint of the system is approximately 100 SF, located adjacent to the existing electrical system at the pump station. Installation and operation of the battery energy system would not result in significant impacts to any environmental resources or sensitive receptors, and would in fact reduce noise impacts and air pollution emissions during power outages.
