Reasons for Exemption
The proposed Project is exempt from CEQA pursuant to Guidelines Section 15301, as the project includes repair and installation of a small amount of infrastructure within a small area of existing public street right-of-way to improve existing school zone pedestrian crossings. The Project consists of installation of accessible curb ramps and small sections of transitional sidewalk to match existing, installing crossing signage and overhead flashing beacons, and restriping existing crosswalks. All intended to enhance pedestrian safety and limited in scope and magnitude and not creating additional automobile lanes.
