Document Description
Conduct prescribed burns within grasslands in Jack London State Historic Park to restore the natural process of fire in the ecosystem, control invasive plants, and reduce fuels. Within the six (6) acre May’s Clearing grassland and the two-and-a-half (2.5) acre Woodcutter’s Meadow, work will occur within spring or fall burn windows during appropriate weather conditions and in accordance with approved burn plans. Work will use hand or power tools to construct maximum four-foot (4’) wide fire lines, which will be used as control lines for the burn units, along with existing fire roads and trails.
