Document Description
The purpose of this project is to apply micro surfacing over various roadways to extend the serviceability of the existing roads. After the micro-surfacing has been applied, signage, striping, and markings will be installed over the roadways to improve roadway safety. Additionally, existing curb & gutter will be reconstructed along a segment of Sherman Ave and Letts Ave to help with flooding issues in the area. This project is intended to benefit all roadway users of the City of Corcoran.

Reasons for Exemption
The work of this project will all occur within existing public facilities. Based on staff's determination, there will not be any expansion of use associated with this project. The improvements are intended to extend the service life of the various existing roads that are part of the project and improve overall roadway safety with new striping, signage, and markings. Drainage improvements consisting of reconstructing the existing curb and gutter will help reduce the excessive floodlng that occurs in the area around Sherman Ave and Letts Ave. Furthermore, pursuant to Section 15300.2 (Exceptions) there is not a reasonable expectation that this project will cause a significant effect on the local environment due to unusual circumstances associated with this project.
