- The McKinley 17 grassroots injection well will be drilled on an existing (fully disturbed) well pad adjacent to two other wells. The pad is located approximately 175 feet south of the intersection of Socrates Mine Road and Castle Spring Road Road in unincorporated Lake County. The Lake County County Community Development Department, as Lead Agency, approved an Environmental Impact Report in August 1975. The California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) considered the EIR prepared by the Lead Agency and issued a Permit to Conduct Well Operations.
