- Document Description
- YVWD purchases water in order to recharge the local groundwater basins. In order to maximize recharge annually, the Oak Glen Basins require maintenance to ensure the infiltration surface isn't clogging due to vegetation and/or soil compaction. Fine sediments and dried algae settle and accumulate over the infiltration surface over time and need to be removed periodically allowing for maximum water recharge into the soil. No vegetation removal will take place on the banks of the basin, only the basin bottoms which consist of predominately invasive species.
