The purpose of the California Health Care Facility (CHCF) Chlorine Injection System lnstallation project is for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to design and construct a chlorine injection system to increase potable water residual chlorine levels before entering the potable water distribution system at CHCF and Northern California Youth Correctional Center (NCYCC). The project scope includes construction of an above ground 120-gallon chemical storage tank, chemical injection system for sodium hypochlorite, a chlorine analyzer, and flow meter. The project also includes installation of a 48 square foot prefabricated metal cabinet to house the chemical storage tank and electronic control equipment on an existing concrete pad adjacent to the existing potable water booster pumps. The chlorine injection system will ensure compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency and State Water Resources Control Board drinking water quality standards related to chlorine levels at CHCF and NCYCC.
All work shall be in compliance with CDCR Design and Construction Policy Guidelines, Building Codes and State Fire Marshal requirements.
