Document Description
The proposed project would construct an auxiliary lane on EB SR-237 between the North First Street Overcrossing and the Zanker Road Overcrossing in San Jose, from PM 7.0 to PM 8.0. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic operations and relieve traffic congestion in the EB direction of SR-237 to reduce peak hour delays and the potential for traffic accidents. The project is needed because the existing three-lane EB traffic within the project limits has recurring traffic bottlenecks during peak periods, causing traffic delays.
