- This project is located at the CAL FIRE Tularcitos Station at 16650 Cachagua Road, Carmel Valley, CA 93924. The project area is in oak woodland in a rural area. The project involves the installation of a DG50-2 Caterpillar generator to provide electrical power to the facility in the event of a power outage. The generator measures approximately 7' x 3.25' x 4.5' and weighs 2,110 lbs. A 5' x 8'concrete footing will be poured to provide a level foundation for the generator. Existing propane tanks will be utilized to fuel the generator. Minor trenching will be completed at lineal distances of approximately 60 feet at a depth of 30 inches to connect the propane tank to the generator and then to the station electrical system. All project work will occur in areas that have already been developed and consist of existing infrastructure and structures.

- This project fits within the above-listed Categorical Exemption listed in the CEQA Guidelines. Field review by CAL FIRE staff confirmed that no exceptions apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project. CAL FIRE has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland/timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning, mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation/traffic, or to utilities and service systems. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is .kept on file at the CAL FIRE San Benito -Monterey Unit Headquarters office at 2221 Garden Road, Monterey, CA 93940.
