- Document Description
- This project will include installation of a concrete generator pad (12' x 8' x 6"), stationary generator, and associated electrical service in underground lines. Electrical lines in conduit will be laid in a trench that is approximately 12" wide, 24" deep, and 125' long. Trenching will be located no more than 20' from fire station buildings that were constructed in the mid-1990s. The fire station is in a mixed conifer forest at an elevation of 3,080'. The topography is flat where the work will be done and gently sloping on the surrounding area. The soil is a deep loam that has been compacted and capped with gravel.

- This project fits under portions of section 15301 - Existing Buildings (a) Interior or exterior alterations involving such things as interior partitions, plumbing, and electrical conveyances. Project will be a minor change to the exterior of the fire station buildings. Field review by CAL FIRE staff confirmed that no exceptions apply that would preclude the use of a notice of exemption for this project. The Department has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland or timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning, mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation or traffic, or to utilities and service systems. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is kept on file at Butte Fire Center, 6640 Steiffer Road, Magalia CA 95954.
