Document Description
The LADWP is committed in providing safe and reliable source of water to its customers. Under LADWP’s Water Infrastructure Plan, pipeline replacement projects promote long-term efficient operation and lower the risk of disruptions due to failures in the water distribution system. The proposed project would replace existing aging mainline pipes to provide a more reliable and safe water supply for the residents of this area. The proposed project replaces approximately 6,100 feet of aging mainline pipes of various sizes with ductile iron pipes in the locations listed above. Excavations on average measures, two feet wide and 54 inches in depth. Construction each day will be confined to a small area and moves along the project alignment for a total duration of approximately 6 months until completion. Excavated area will be covered with steel plates until the completion of each replaced pipe segment is backfilled and paved. Traffic control plans will be implemented per the WATCH Manual and Los Angeles Department of Transportation requirements.
