Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
(15301; 15332)
Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 for Existing Facilities because it involves the remodel of an existing building to improve usable space within the structure and an addition of less than 10,000 square feet. On a separate and independent basis, the project also qualifies for a categorical exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15332, Infill Development Projects because the project site is no more than five acres, substantially surrounded by urban uses with no value as habitat for endangered, rare of threatened species and could be adequately served by all required utilities and public services. Additionally, approval of the project would not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality. Therefore, it can be seen with certainty that the UC Sacramento Learning Complex project will not have a significant impact on the environment. None of the exceptions in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 to the exemption apply.
