Document Description
Caltrans proposes to conduct geotechnical drilling on State Route (SR) 299 at Post Mile (PM) 11.98 and 16.45. The purpose of the geotechnical drilling is to characterize the subsurface soil conditions to determine appropriate trenchless replacement methods for two existing culverts. The investigation would involve 4 vertical mud-rotary borings, 75-100 feet in depth, which would be constructed as piezometers to measure ground water elevations within the fill prism. Drilling would occur from the existing paved lanes of SR 299, requiring temporary lane closure and traffic-control.
