Document Description
Trinity County Resource Conservation District proposes a fuels treatment project within State right-of-way on both sides of state route 3. The project proposes to reduce fuels by removing brush and increasing tree spacing. The proposed project will promote a shaded fuel break and will reduce the likelihood of wildfire from roadside ignition. The project is supported by local landowners. Caltrans would issue an encroachment permit to allow for the proposed work within the State right-of-way.

The proposed fuel project is in the existing highway right-of-way and is a minor alteration that meets standards and specifications. Trinity County Resource Conservation District the CEQA lead agency, has determined the project is exempt under section 15304 class 4. The activities in the ROW will have no adverse environmental impacts.
