The originally approved project consists of: The expansion to 111,444 acres and development of the geothermal overlay zone, which includes onshore and offshore lands at the Salton Sea Anomaly, located along the southeast shore of the Salton Sea in Imperial County. Development includes construction, operation, and maintenance of geothermal power plants, geothermal wells, pipelines, and other associated facilities and infrastructure. Imperial County, as Lead Agency, prepared and approved an Environmental Impact report (EIR) in May 1982. The California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) considered the EIR prepared by the Lead Agency and issued a Permit to Conduct Well Operations for one well. CalGEM has approved permits for CalEnergy Operating Corporation to install the geothermal well listed below, in the Salton Sea geothermal field. API# Well Name 02591529 Berard 1
