The purpose of this project is to minimize the frequency and duration of worker exposure to traffic by constructing maintenance vehicle pullouts, slope paving, and paving beyond gore areas. The project is located on State Route 198 in Hanford in Kings County, beginning 0.4 mile east of the 10th Avenue Undercrossing (Post Mile 19.4) and ending 0.82 mile west of the intersection with 6th Avenue (Post Mile 22.5). The project includes 3 maintenance vehicle pullouts, 10 gore area paving locations, 2 slope paving locations, installation of 6 traffic monitoring stations, 2 reconstructed shoulders, installation of breakaway sign posts, and addressing any drainage concerns.
