Revocation of a Variance (VAA-3968) that allowed the Auburn Trapshooting Club to construct a noise reducing sound curtain beyond the zone district maximum height of 36 feet to a maximum height of 68 feet. Rather than absorbing and reducing sound, the sound curtain instead reflected acoustic energy resulting in measurable increases in noise impacts to surrounding neighbors.

The revocation of the Auburn Trapshooting Club Shot Screen Variance is exempt from environmental review pursuant to provisions of Section 15061 (b)(4) and 15321 since the action requested is revocation of the variance due to a failure to comply with the conditions of approval and the Placer County Code. In addition, revocation of the variance and removal of the nonconforming portion of the Shot Screen is demolition of a structure in accordance with Guidelines section 15301, and constitutes a minor alteration to the land in accordance with Guidelines Section 15303.
