The project is located at the CAL FIRE Ahwahnee Fire Station located at 43033 Highway 49 South, Ahwahnee, CA 93601. The property is characterized as oak woodland at 2,305 feet elevation with native/non-native grasses and forbs in a rural residential area. The project involves the installation of a DG60-2 Caterpillar generator to provide electrical power to the facility in the event of a power outage. A 16' x IO 'concrete footing will be poured to provide a level foundation for the generator. Minor trenching will be completed at lineal distances of approximately 8 feet and at a depth of 30 inches to connect the existing propane line to the generator and then the generator to the station electrical system.

Reasons for Exemption
This project fits under 15303 New Construction of Small Structure; Class 3 ( d). The project activities would occur within previously disturbed areas. Field review by CAL FIRE staff confirmed that no 15300.2. Exceptions apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project. The activities will not result in the taking of endangered, rare, or threatened plant or animal species, or sedimentation to surface waters. CAL FIRE staff has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland/timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning, mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation/traffic, or utilities and service systems. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is kept on file at CAL FIRE Mariposa Headquarters at 5366 State Highway 49 North, Mariposa CA 95338.
