Document Description
Replace the failing roof and repaint the exterior of the Silverado Ranch House in Robert Louis Stevenson State Park to help protect and preserve the resource for continues future use. Work will:
• Remove the old deteriorated cedar shingle roof;
• Replace damaged or rotted sheathing, faschia boards and plywood decking as needed;
• Install new galvanized drip edges, valley flashing and roof jacks;
• Apply weather watch leak barrier on eves, rake and all pitch of 2% or less;
• Lay down 30# felt between roof deck and new shingles;
• Install a new 30-year composition shingle roof;
• Test peeling and chipped exterior paint for lead and if detected, contain and dispose of lead paint; and
• Re-paint the building to match existing color.

Project consists of maintenance and minor alterations of existing public or private structures or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing; and the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, included as “reroofing” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR § 15300.4.
