Document Description
Replacement of approximately 2500' of failing water line from the Basalt main water tank to the campground at San Luis Reservoir SRA. Existing line is roughly 50 years old and has failed in several places resulting in numerous repairs. Current water line is leaking approximately 7000 gallons a day. Work will; • Using an excavator or backhoe, excavate a trench 2,500' long x 1 O' deep x 6' wide within the existing water line footprint from the Basalt water tank to the wharf hydrant; • Place a layer of sand on top of old pipes to place new pipes on; • Place 6" C900 water pipe in excavated main trench, on top of old water pipes; • Backfill trenches with native soil; • Install a flow meter on the water tank; • Install a new PRV valve on the waterline leading to the campground; • Install a new hydrant at the wharf; and • Install two (2) new water valves at the inlet and outlet line.
