Document Description
The Project is a new construction project that includes street, pedestrian, and bicycle access improvements along the frontage of the Terra Linda High School campus, and implements a number of the recommendations of the Safe Routes to School Committee. The proposed improvements are intended to improve the aesthetic appearance of the front of the school, improve ADA access to the campus, and increase the safety of students, staff and visitors as they arrive at and depart from the school as pedestrians, bicyclists, or by bus and private vehicles. Class 1: Operation, repair, maintenance or minor Interior and exterior alterations to existing public structures, facilities, and mechanical equipment involving no or negligible expansion of use, including improvements to existing streets, sidewalks, bicycle, and pedestrian trails and similar facilities; the addition of bicycle lanes, facilities, and parking; transit improvements such as bus drop-off lanes, pedestrian crossings, and street trees; and other similar alterations; restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated structures; and the addition of safety devices for use in conjunction with existing structures, facilities, or topographical features. Class 2: Replacement of existing facilities involving the substantially same purpose and no or negligible expansion of capacity; replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity; undergrounding and expansion/connection of utilities. Class 3: Small new facilities or structures (e.g., a replacement LED marquee sign, benches, etc.), electrical power and other utility extensions to serve the construction; accessory (appurtenant) structures and facilities. Class 4: Minor alterations to land associated grading, trenching, and backfill; new gardening or landscaping; the creation of bicycle lanes on existing rights of way. Class 14: Minor Additions to Schools to existing schools within existing school grounds.
