Document Description
The project proposes to remove the vegetated areas adjacent to the median and barrier rails. The purpose of the project is to improve roadside safety. The project would improve safety by (1) reducing the need for high risk/exposure maintenance associated with vegetation management; (2) increasing the ability for motorists to recover from potential collisions; and (3) reducing the potential for animal-related collisions. Collisions have occurred during lane closures due to maintenance of vegetated areas; multiple sightings of grazing wildlife in these areas which pose an increased risk for animal/vehicular collisions.
