Document Description
An unnamed, ephemeral tributary (creek) bordering the northern shoulder of Lucas Valley Rd, has experienced significant vertical incision and bank erosion due to an upward migrating head cut originating in Miller Creek. The erosion has undercut the shoulder of Lucas Valley Rd destabilizing a portion of the road. To prevent further undercutting of the road and improve user safety, the Project will install 116 feet of tangent pile wall primarily within the shoulder of Lucas Valley Road. However, 16 ft of the 116 ft of wall will be exposed along the bank of the creek where erosion has undercut the roadway. The pilings for the wall will be drilled down into the roadside shoulder area, as far from the channel as possible. An existing 18-inch corrugated metal culvert will also be replaced.
