Document Description
Note: Reference SCH #2008032110; EA/IS tiered from Master EIR
The purpose of the Chapman Ranch Phase B Project is to increase salmon and steelhead habitat downstream of Lewiston Dam on the mainstem Trinity River. The proposed project is designed to enhance both terrestrial and aquatic habitat quality. In-river work will increase habitat complexity via construction of slow water refuge habitats (e.g., floodplain wetlands and side channels), reconnection of the floodplain with the river, mainstem flow-splitting channels, and placement of in-river geomorphic and habitat features (e.g., rock and wood structures). On-shore work will include revegetation of riverine and upland areas with native vegetation.
