Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0256-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Santa Barbara County Public Works Transportation Division. The project is to conduct repair work to bridge 51C-200 that was damaged during the 2018 debris flow event at Lilac Drive over an unnamed stream tributary to Buena Vista Creek. This work entails demolishing the damaged portion of the upstream side and downstream side of the deck, reconstructing new edges of the deck, reconstructing a reinforced concrete curb at the edge of the deck, repairing the wingwall at damaged locations, patching additional various concrete spalls in reinforced concrete as needed to restore the bridge to its predamaged condition, reconstructing the bridge railing, and reconstructing the roadway where it is damaged. All work will take place on the bridge structure. The bridge deck is over the stream, the wingwalls are tied into the streambank. Access for the repairs to the wingwalls will be from the existing road or the bridge deck. There will be no equipment in the stream and no work un-related to bridge structure repairs will take place in the stream. Tarps will be suspended beneath the bridge prior to the start of work to contain any dust and debris. Equipment used to complete this work will be a concrete truck, a generator, concrete and wood saws, scaffolding, and a dump truck.
