Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) is considering the “Conway Ranch Shoulders Project” to construct 8-foot wide shoulders on both sides of U.S. Route 395 near Lee Vining from the junction of State Route 167 (postmile 58.24) to 0.4-mile north of Conway Ranch Road (postmile 60.40). In addition to shoulder widening, drainage/culverts will be upgraded to match new pavement. A chain installation/removal area will be extended and switch-controlled area lighting will be installed. A project report and Categorical Exemption for this project were finalized April 2020 and posted under State Clearing House number: 2020050030. However, several design changes have occurred, necessitated a supplemental project report and elevated environmental document.
