Document Description
The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is providing funding to the Santa Clara County FireSafe Council to complete landscape-scale forest health and wildfire resiliency treatments within the Los Gatos Creek Watershed Collaborative Forest Health Project, Phase I and II. Treatment activities include manual thinning, mechanical mastication, chipping, and site preparation. These treatments are focused on fuels reduction and ecological management of multi-jurisdictional watershed lands to promote forest health, reduce the risk of wildfire,and improve ecosystem resilience. The entire project was evaluated by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, including preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and an addendum to the EIR.
