Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS_IMP_19697_R6, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the City of Calexico. The project is limited to the installation of temporary coffer dams to isolate a work area within the New River, installation of a trash screen and water diversion structure downstream from the US-Mexico Border, installation of approximately 8,100 feet of 72-inch underground bypass pipe to convey polluted New River water from the diversion structure, around downtown Calexico for approximately 1.5 miles, to the bypass pipe outlet, installation of a 350 square-foot energy dissipater with adjacent riprap at the outlet of the bypass pipe to control erosion, and building a pump-back system to replace the polluted water in the river channel with clean, treated wastewater from the Calexico Wastewater Treatment Plant
