Document Description
Project will implement vegetation management activities in ponderosa pine population zones at Henry Coe State Park to improve forest health and resiliency. Vegetation work will occur at three (3) ridgetop locations with a cumulative total of 210 acres of treatment. Treatment activities include:
• The thinning of ponderosa pine seedlings that are too close together;
• The removal of grey pines or other competing vegetation;
• The removal of brush within the dripline of heritage trees;
• The removal of ladder fuels that pose fire risk to ponderosa pines larger than 18" diameter at breast height; and
• The staging of removed vegetation into piles for future on site burning or chipping.
