Document Description
The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) would provide funding to the Butte County Fire Safe Council to implement fuel reduction and restoration treatments to increase connections between existing forest health projects and result in WUI–wide forest restoration within the Big Chico Creek Watershed. Treatment activities include mechanical and manual thinning, including mastication, livestock grazing, herbicide application, and prescribed burning, including both broadcast and pile burning. The purpose of these treatments is to promote forest and watershed health, reduce fuel load, and demonstrate efficacy of climate beneficial prescriptions.
