The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide $439,040.00 to the Butte County Fire Safe Council to treat 250 acres of private land to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildlife and protect the nearby communities of Forest Ranch, Cohasset, and City of Chico. Treatment activities include mechanical and hand thinning, pile burn preparation, and lop and scatter, Additionally, the project would include a training program for current students and recent graduates. The Butte County RCD prepared and adopted an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project.
