Document Description
The project will construct 11 new injection wells and 1 observation well to replace and supplement existing West Coast Basin Barrier Project facilities that are in need of immediate replacement. The new injection wells will help prevent seawater intrusion by creating a freshwater pressure ridge in the underlying aquifers of the West Coast Basin in the County of Los Angeles.

The project is within a class of projects that has been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and it meets the requirements of Section 15303 of the CEQA Guidelines and Class 3 of the Los Angeles County's Environmental Document Reporting Procedures and Guidelines, Appendix G. In addition, the project will comply with all CEQA and Los Angeles County regulations, is not located in a sensitive environment, and there are no cumulative Impacts, unusual circumstances, damage to scenic highways, listing on hazardous waste site lists compiled pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government Code or indications that it may cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource, that would make the exemption inapplicable.
