Document Description
Improve the drainage along the west wall of the Custom House at Monterey State Historic Park to alleviate conditions that are causing deterioration to the stone/adobe walls and plaster covering. Work will: - Saw-cut and remove a portion of the existing concrete patio along the west and south walls; - Excavate a 176' x 6" x 12" trench that runs along the west wall, under a garden wall, and terminated at a designated water collection and drain area in the existing garden; - Install a trench drain encased in filter fabric, surrounded by drain rock; and - Cover the trench, and French drain, with compacted rock to allow for drainage and moisture evaporation.
