Document Description
The existing sewer lift station was constructed in 1981 and many of its components are reaching the end of their useful life. This project includes replacement of the existing hot mix asphalt pavement, replacement ofthe existing wood framed building structure and foundation with a pre-engineered concrete masonry unit building; grading and compaction of structure backfill for building pad; replace the existing wet well lid to include a safety grate; replace the pumps, rails and receivers; install new miscellaneous valves, pre-cast concrete vaults and flow meter; install new electrical and instrumentation; relocate existing PG&E underground service and replace with new meter main and panelboard with distribution; install new electrical components for termination panel, disconnect, transfer switch, and new connection for mobile generator; new asphalt dikes to control stormwater drainage; new concrete equipment pads; and, improvements to emergency storage tank; and traffic control during construction. The work will be completed within previously disturbed areas and will slightly increase impervious coverage. The existing site is near an unnamed stream that is identified on USGS topographic maps as a blue-lined feature. The project will not remove any nearby vegeation along the stream and it will not disturb the bank or bed of the waterway. Stormwater BMP controls will be in place during construction to prevent stormwater runoff from the construction area. A traffic control plan will be implemented along Jaeger Road for portions of the construction operations. We do not anticipate any temporary bypass of sewage flows to make these improvements.

Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to Section 15301, Existing Facilities, and Section 15302 of the CEQA Guidelines, Replacement or Reconstruction, this project is exempt from further CEQA review. Section 15301(b) includes repair, maintenance, and minor alterations of existing public or private facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use. Section 15302(c) specifically refers to projects that consist of replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems or facilities located on the same site and of substantially same purpose and capacity. There will be no expansion of use or capacity as a result of this project. No new ground disturbance is expected.
