Document Description
Project will complete improvements to the Middle Track Trail and install fencing at Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area to improve user safety and increase surface stability. Work will: • Use a bulldozer and an excavator to widen approx. 1,715' of Middle Track Trail from 10' to 14', widen 779' of unnamed trail from 6' to 14', and create 163' of new trail to reroute/reshape a sharp curve; • Use a dump truck to place approx. 550 yd^3 of aggregate base and use a bulldozer and excavator to spread the aggregate to approx. 8" deep; • Use a roller to compact the aggregate on the trail surface; • Use a bulldozer and a hydro seeder to return natural contour and rehabilitate approx. 466' of Middle Track Trail; • Use hand tools to excavate approx. 72 holes (totaling approx. 72 ft^2 of ground disturbance and 216 ft^3 of excavated material) to install 24 H-braces (one every 100') along the trail to install approx. 2,300' of fuel fencing; and • Spread all resultant excavated materials onsite.
