Document Description
The program of routine maintenance includes, but is not limited to, all mowing, burning, vegetation pruning, fallen or hazardous tree removal, road grading, minor earthwork repairs and the placement of rock revetment on Reclamation District 1500's flood control levees, as well as any other similar activities that are needed to meet standards established by applicable law. Unit I The Sacramento River levee and unit 2 the Sutter Bypass levees are part of the federal Sacramento River Flood Control Project and have been turned over to Reclamation District 1500 for operation and maintenance. These levees protect residents, property, infrastructure, Crop Storage facilities. and habitat in the Sutter Basin area. In addition, the District undertakes the operation and maintenance of Canals, Drains and pumping plants in the Sutter Basin area.

Reasons for Exemption
The activities to be conducted under the program of routine maintenance consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, and/or minor alteration of existing flood control levees, facilities and structures involving negligible or no expansion of currently established use. Existing facilities to be covered under this program consist of publicly owned utilities used to provide flood protection to the Sutter Basin area. Activities would include restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures and facilities to meet current standards of public health and safety.
