Document Description
This Collision Severity Reduction project improves the clear recovery zone (CRZ) in the median of Interstate 5 in Tehama County between the Nine Mile Hill/Hooker Creek overcrossing (PM 36.37) and the Shasta County line (PM 42.12) by flattening slopes and removing fixed objects (oak trees). Drainage facilities will be reconfigured and repaired as required. The project also proposed to widen paved shoulders to 10 feet adjacent to the number 1 lane where the southbound climbing lane (PM 39.4/40.55) exists near the Cottonwood scales to meet mandatory standards.
