Document Description
Issue a Lease (10-year) to the United States Geologic Service for a seismic monitoring station to be installed on State land ate the Peninsula portion of Folsom Lake State Recreation Area in order to provide continuous seismic data to the CA Earthquake Early Warning System (CEEWS) and ShakeAlert, designed to potentially save thousands of lives during a large earthquake, prevent critical infrastructure damage, and expedite recovery following a large earthquake. All work will be done in previously disturbed ground. Installation of the new infrastructure is expected to take 2 days, and the installation of all related seismic instrumentation is expected to take 1 day. The site is expected to remain operational indefinitely. All work associated with this lease will comply with all State and Federal environmental laws, including but not limited to the Endangered Species Act, California Environmental Quality Act, Section 5024 of the Public Resources Code, and be coordinated with the Gold Field District's staff as identified in the Lease Permit.
