Document Description
The City of Shafter is proposing to expand and enhance existing open space at Rodriguez Park to serve as a dedicated recreation field. A City drainage basin within the park will be partially reconfigured and fenced to ensure that surface drainage on the field is enhanced. Additional storm drainage piping installed between the intersection of Rodriguez Avenue and South Wall Street and the basin will also ensure the field is not susceptible to flooding. Existing fencing around the field will be extended to enclose the expanded field use for recreation. Field lighting will be installed to enable nighttime use by sports teams or neighboring residents. Walking paths around the perimeter of the park with lighting are proposed to provide an added level of recreation.
