Document Description
The Hopland REC Biogass Gasification Project would install and operate a temporary 50 kilowatt biomass gasification system that converts woody biomass waste into power and thermal energy. The facility would operate for two years providing renewable power to the Hopland REC. The biomass gasification system would comprise of two power pallets located within a 20' width x 6' length x 8' height metal cargo container, using Mendocino fire biomass to generate electricity and produce "biochar" (a useful waste byproduct). The container would be placed adjacent to existing buildings within the developed headquarter area of the Hopland REC. The minor improvements include a compact base rock pad (approximately 20'X30') for the container and utility trenching (approx. 200 feet) for a tie-in to the electrical system. The Hopland REC is an ANR facility with no applicable LRDP. Hopland REC is located northeast of Hopland , CA on University Road.
